LTL Shipments & Handling Fees

For products that are oversized, heavy, fragile, or require special handling, we use Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight carriers to ensure safe delivery. These items, which include but are not limited to tubs, toilets, sinks, and vanities, may be subject to a special handling fee.

This LTL handling fee is a surcharge applied by the carrier to cover costs associated with specialized equipment, lift-gate service, residential delivery, and the handling of heavy or bulky items.

Any applicable LTL handling fees will be calculated and displayed at checkout. In some rare cases, after a purchase has been made, we may determine that an additional LTL handling fee is necessary. Should this occur, a member of our team will contact you directly to inform you of the extra charge. At that time, you will have the choice to either proceed with the order and accept the additional fee or cancel your order for a full refund.

The handling fee is non-refundable as it covers the cost of the specialized service provided by the carrier. By proceeding with your order, you acknowledge and agree to this fee.

Shipping Details

Important Note on Shipping Speeds: The shipping speed selected at checkout (e.g., next-day, 2nd-day, or 3-day air shipment) applies only after the item is ready to ship. This does not include the processing time required on both the manufacturer’s and Plumbing Overstock’s end. Processing typically takes 24-48 business hours on our end, followed by an additional 24-48 hours on the vendor’s side, depending on the product and manufacturer. Therefore, selecting a faster shipping speed at checkout does not guarantee the total delivery timeline, as the processing period must be completed before the item is shipped. Customers are responsible for understanding this distinction, and delays due to processing times are not grounds for refunds or chargebacks.

  • The shipping speed selected at checkout applies once the item is processed or production is complete. Processing typically takes 24-48 business hours on our end, followed by another 24-48 hours on the vendor’s side. This time is excluded from the selected shipping speed. Delays may occur due to high order volume or manufacturer backlogs, and no refunds will be issued for such delays.
  • Production times vary by manufacturer and are estimated on the website above the product description. These estimates are not guaranteed and may be extended without prior notice due to supply chain disruptions.
  • Same-day shipping for domestic (US lower 48) rush orders is available if payment is received by 12 p.m. PST, provided checkout instructions are followed. Options include next-day, 2nd-day, or 3-day air shipment (rates via shipping calculator). Rush orders canceled after processing will incur a 25% restocking fee.
  • Buyers are responsible for all shipping and optional insurance charges. Orders of $250 or more require a signature upon receipt. International buyers handle duties, taxes, and related fees. Failure to pay these fees will result in the shipment being returned, with all associated costs deducted from any refund.

Shipping Estimates

The "Usually Ships In" timeframe displayed on product pages (e.g., "Usually Ships within 8-10 Weeks") is an estimate only and is subject to change based on backorder availability, manufacturer production schedules, and other factors beyond our control, such as supply chain disruptions or high demand. While we strive to provide accurate estimates, these timeframes are not guaranteed, and delays may occur without prior notice. Customers are responsible for understanding that these estimates do not constitute a delivery promise, and delays due to backorder or production issues are not grounds for refunds, cancellations, or chargebacks.

If an item is on backorder, we will notify you via email with an updated estimated shipping date, if available. However, failure to receive such notification does not entitle you to a refund or cancellation unless the delay exceeds 90 days from the original estimated shipping date. In such cases, you may request a store credit refund, subject to a 10% processing fee.

Standard Shipping

  • Orders are typically shipped within 3 business days after payment clears (excluding legal holidays). You’ll receive an automated email with tracking information to the address provided at checkout. Failure to receive tracking information does not entitle you to a refund unless the shipment is proven lost by the carrier.
  • Shipping via FedEx Ground or another carrier at our discretion; P.O. boxes and APO/FPO addresses are not supported. Customer pick-up is unavailable. Any attempt to redirect to unsupported addresses will result in cancellation with a 15% processing fee.
  • Due to competitive pricing, shipping charge refunds are not offered. Deliveries to Canada via International First Class Service may take up to 30 days. Customers must acknowledge that international shipping delays are beyond our control and not grounds for chargeback claims.
Once an item ships and a tracking number is provided—whether from Plumbing Overstock or the manufacturer—we are no longer liable if the package is lost or stolen. At that point, the carrier assumes responsibility and will determine if a refund is warranted.
  • To protect your order against loss or theft, optional package protection is available at checkout. This protection also includes a free return shipping label should you choose to return your item.

Most items are dropshipped directly from manufacturers. While we strive to keep stock status updated, real-time changes may not always reflect. Contact support to confirm warehouse availability. Orders placed with inaccurate stock information are subject to cancellation without refund if the item is unavailable.

Please be aware that our responsibility for your order ends once the item has been shipped and is in the carrier's possession. We act as the middleman between you and the manufacturer/carrier, and we are not the manufacturer of the products we sell. Therefore, we are not responsible for product defects.

Once an item has shipped, any issues related to delivery, loss, or damage fall under the responsibility of the carrier. While we will assist you by facilitating communication and filing claims with the carrier on your behalf, we are not responsible for the outcome or for any delays in the claims process.

As we strictly operate as an intermediary, Plumbing Overstock explicitly disclaims responsibility for all manufacturer policies, product warranties, defect claims, and issues arising from mis-shipments or component shortages. By purchasing from our website, the customer acknowledges and agrees that all manufacturer policies and terms are legally passed on to the buyer as a condition of sale. This means if the manufacturer declines to validate or act upon a complaint regarding the product, warranty, or contents of the shipment, that decision is binding upon the buyer. Any claim asserting that the consumer is solely bound by the policies of Plumbing Overstock and exempt from manufacturer rules is deemed unfounded and will be rejected. By proceeding with a purchase, the customer fully assumes the risk and responsibility associated with manufacturer terms.

Enjoy peace of mind with free return shipping on eligible purchases if you purchase the "Shipping Insurance + Free Return Shipping" package only. If the item isn’t right for you, simply return it without any shipping costs. If you do not purchase these protections, all return shipping fees are the customer’s responsibility. Note: this does not cover any restocking fees that the manufacturer may apply upon return. Restocking fees are calculated outside of the shipping costs and are calculated by the Manufacturer. Plumbing Overstock is not the manufacturer and is not responsible for product defects.

Crucial Note on Coverage Scope: The default carrier insurance only covers loss or damage that occurs during transit. It specifically excludes coverage for product defects, manufacturer fulfillment errors, or mis-shipments (such as missing or incorrect components) as these issues are governed by the manufacturer's warranty and are not related to carrier handling.

Should a lost or damaged package claim be necessary, we will assist you by working directly with the carrier. However, the carrier's investigation timeline is not under our control, and the final decision on a refund or compensation amount rests solely with them.

In some cases, the carrier may need to contact you directly for additional information. It is the customer's responsibility to respond to any communication from the carrier to ensure the claim is processed without delay. Any denied claims or amounts that fall outside of the carrier's standard coverage are not our responsibility.

Returns Policy

Return purchases within 30 days of receipt for an exchange or refund of the purchase price, excluding shipping and handling costs. Please note that orders under $100 are typically considered final sale. Contact us at sales@plumbingoverstock.com to request a return. Returns must be initiated within this period; late requests will be denied, and no exceptions will be made for customer oversight. You will not be entitled to a refund if you still have the item in your possession.

For items with free shipping, actual outbound costs will be deducted from your refund. Once shipped, orders cannot be cancelled; refused orders fall under the standard return policy with roundtrip shipping costs deducted. Returned items must be in original, uninstalled condition with all packaging, warranty, and instructions intact. Any signs of use, damage, or missing components will result in a 50% restocking fee or outright rejection.

Non-stock or custom orders (lead time over two weeks) incur a 20%-50% restocking fee, depending on the manufacturer’s policy, even before shipment if cancelled during production. Some items, including living finishes, unlacquered, or gold finishes, may be non-cancellable or non-returnable per manufacturer terms. Customers initiating chargebacks for non-returnable items will be subject to legal action for recovery of costs.

Refunds

Store credit refunds are processed immediately upon inspection approval, making this the fastest option for our customers. In contrast, refunds to the original payment method involve a complex, multi-stage validation process. First, we must await a formal credit memo from the manufacturer. Because we operate as a distributor, we cannot release funds until the manufacturer has finalized their internal accounting and issued this credit to us—a procedure that is entirely outside our control and often spans weeks to months to complete. Once the manufacturer finally completes this step, the refund is forwarded to our finance team for final verification. This internal processing is not instantaneous and enters a queued accounting schedule for issuance.

By choosing to return an item for a monetary refund, you explicitly acknowledge and accept this extended timeline. Consequently, any chargebacks filed for 'Credit Not Received' while the refund is still pending manufacturer approval or finance processing will be considered premature and invalid. We will vigorously contest such disputes by providing this policy as proof of your acceptance, and you may be liable for administrative dispute fees.

LTL Shipments

LTL shipments (e.g., bathtubs, vanities, large mirrors) are non-returnable and delivered curb side only. Custom items may also be non-cancellable. Report damage within 72 hours of receipt for a replacement. Installed items may not qualify for returns. Note any box damage as "package damaged" or "pending inspection" on the Bill of Lading (BOL) upon delivery. Failure to report damage within this timeframe waives all claims.

Customers are responsible for coordinating with the carrier for delivery arrangements. Refusal of delivery or failure to be present at the delivery site will result in return shipping costs and a 30% restocking fee. LTL shipments require a signed receipt, and any dispute over delivery condition must be supported by photographic evidence submitted within 48 hours.

A living finish is created by leaving the surface of a product, typically raw brass, unlacquered. The final appearance is unique to each piece, influenced by factors like how often it is handled and the environmental conditions. It's also important to note that the raw finish may show signs of initial tarnishing, such as black marks or spots, which can occur from contact with other items even during shipment.

Care & Maintenance

As living finishes age, they will develop a distinctive patina, with frequently touched areas often becoming brighter while less-used parts gradually darken. Regular care is essential to preserving the finish and slowing this natural aging process.

  • Daily Care: To prevent water spots from leaving dark marks, simply wipe the surface dry with a soft cloth after each use.
  • Cleaning: For occasional cleaning, wipe gently with a damp cloth and then blot dry. For added protection and to restore the finish, you can apply a wax specifically designed for brass surfaces using a soft cloth.
  • What to Avoid: To prevent irreversible damage, never use harsh or abrasive cleaners, acids, solvents, bleach, or vinegar. Also, avoid using coarse or abrasive sponges and cloths.

The durability and final appearance of a living finish are a reflection of the care it receives. With proper maintenance, your item will maintain its character and beauty for years to come.

Return Conditions

  • Returned items in non-original condition incur a 50% restocking fee plus outbound shipping costs, even for free shipping items. Used or damaged items beyond resale will be rejected and returned to the sender at their expense. Customers must provide a detailed explanation and photographic evidence for any claimed defects.
  • Defective returns qualify for replacement or exchange without restocking fees, but labor costs are not covered. File lost shipment claims with the carrier via our support within 72 hours, or the claim will be void. Replacement items are subject to the same return conditions.
  • A 20%-35% restocking fee (up to 60% for some brands) applies to refunded items, as mandated by manufacturers. This fee is non-negotiable and will be deducted before processing any refund.
  • Refunds process within 5-10 business days of warehouse receipt, provided conditions are met. We reserve the right to refuse non-compliant returns. Shipping and return protection fees are non-refundable. Any attempt to dispute this via chargeback will result in a 50% penalty fee and potential legal action.
  • With Returns Coverage purchased at checkout, return shipping is covered; otherwise, it’s deducted from refunds or store credit. Customers must retain proof of purchase and return tracking for all claims.

Cancellation Policy

Orders are typically processed within 24 hours, making cancellations challenging once manufacturers begin production. To request cancellation, email returns@plumbingoverstock.com. Cancellations must be requested before shipment; post-shipment cancellations are not permitted and will be treated as returns. A 10% processing fee applies to all cancellations.

For uncancellable chargebacks, a 50% fee covers processing costs, and free item values are deducted from refunds. Issuing a chargeback may result in blacklisting, leading to declined future orders. Customers must provide written consent from us for any cancellation to be valid; verbal requests will not be honoured.

Custom or special-order items are non-cancellable once production begins, and any attempt to cancel will incur the full purchase price as a penalty. Disputes over cancellation eligibility will be resolved through binding arbitration, with all legal costs borne by the customer if the claim is unfounded.
