Our Role and Responsibility
Please be aware that our responsibility for your order ends once the item has been shipped and is in the carrier's possession. We act as the middleman between you and the manufacturer/carrier, and we are not the manufacturer of the products we sell. Therefore, we are not responsible for product defects.
Once an item has shipped, any issues related to delivery, loss, or damage fall under the responsibility of the carrier. While we will assist you by facilitating communication and filing claims with the carrier on your behalf, we are not responsible for the outcome or for any delays in the claims process.
As we strictly operate as an intermediary, Plumbing Overstock explicitly disclaims responsibility for all manufacturer policies, product warranties, defect claims, and issues arising from mis-shipments or component shortages. By purchasing from our website, the customer acknowledges and agrees that all manufacturer policies and terms are legally passed on to the buyer as a condition of sale. This means if the manufacturer declines to validate or act upon a complaint regarding the product, warranty, or contents of the shipment, that decision is binding upon the buyer. Any claim asserting that the consumer is solely bound by the policies of Plumbing Overstock and exempt from manufacturer rules is deemed unfounded and will be rejected. By proceeding with a purchase, the customer fully assumes the risk and responsibility associated with manufacturer terms.

Important Exclusion: This optional shipping insurance solely covers packages that are lost or damaged while in the carrier's possession during transit. This protection does not cover or apply to claims related to product defects, manufacturer errors, or mis-shipments (such as missing or incorrect items) which fall under the manufacturer's warranty and fulfillment responsibility, as Plumbing Overstock is not the manufacturer.
Insurance Claim Qualifications
- Proof of Damage or Loss: Documentation must be provided within 30 days of the delivery date. Coverage may be denied if insufficient or unclear proof is provided.
- Post-Delivery Exclusions: Coverage does not extend to any damage occurring after delivery date, such as accidental drops, misuse, or improper storage.
- Original Packaging: Items must remain in their original packaging to qualify for a claim.
- Misleading Claims: Claims filed with altered or falsified information will void eligibility for insurance coverage.
- Carrier Cooperation: To qualify for a claim under this protection, you must cooperate with any investigation or communication from the carrier. This cooperation is necessary for our team to be reimbursed by the carrier, which in turn allows us to process your claim.
FREE RETURN SHIPPING
Enjoy peace of mind with free return shipping on eligible purchases if you purchase the "Shipping Insurance + Free Return Shipping" package only. If the item isn’t right for you, simply return it without any shipping costs. If you do not purchase these protections, all return shipping fees are the customer’s responsibility. Note: this does not cover any restocking fees that the manufacturer may apply upon return. Restocking fees are calculated outside of the shipping costs and are calculated by the Manufacturer. Plumbing Overstock is not the manufacturer and is not responsible for product defects.

Carrier Insurance and Unprotected Shipments
If you choose not to purchase our "Shipping Insurance + Free Return Shipping" package, your shipment will be insured only for the default amount provided by the carrier. This amount is typically limited and may not cover the full value of your item.
Crucial Note on Coverage Scope: The default carrier insurance only covers loss or damage that occurs during transit. It specifically excludes coverage for product defects, manufacturer fulfillment errors, or mis-shipments (such as missing or incorrect components) as these issues are governed by the manufacturer's warranty and are not related to carrier handling.
Should a lost or damaged package claim be necessary, we will assist you by working directly with the carrier. However, the carrier's investigation timeline is not under our control, and the final decision on a refund or compensation amount rests solely with them.
In some cases, the carrier may need to contact you directly for additional information. It is the customer's responsibility to respond to any communication from the carrier to ensure the claim is processed without delay. Any denied claims or amounts that fall outside of the carrier's standard coverage are not our responsibility.
